"Were I a less sensitive and enlightened "

man I would say that they remind one less of humans and more of monkeys in their tendancy to dance around in their rage against others who have built better cities and more just societies. A "people" whose response of choice is either to run wildly in the streets firing weapons into the air in their glee or to run wildly in the streets destroying property in their dismay hardly inspires one with any confidence that they can sit with others at the international table. Meanwhile the UN continues to pretend the emperor in fact has new clothing and these tribes with flags are accorded the status of real nations, capable of self government, able to act in reciprocal exchange, and expected to keep their promises.
Callous observation will lead one to conclude that they lie as a matter of course -- the way a moth circles a flame -- and that on the open market 100,000 of their promises can be bought for a dime and you will expect a nickle in change. When their leaders sign a document you can safely conclude only that the pen works and when they make vows of peace you can know for certain that they are capable of forming words into sentences. The narrow minded would conclude that they respect the man holding the largest gun on them as long as he is holding it and seems inclined to use it.
But being the soul of PC decorum I will say none of those things.
