"a one a two, a heck of a hullabaloo"

So, i'm turning in my LSU sweatshirt at the door when I make this post...
Over the past three months one of the last things I've thought about is the tulane football program. Every now and then I hear "tulane lost again"...after 25+ years of hearing that...you know? its almost like morning coffee at this point.
But I think its a travesty that the tulane football program's plight hasn't been given any attention, really. Or none that I've seen, and I try to pay attention. Two years ago Tulane's football program was on the chopping block. If not for a last second community appeal there may not have been a football season for the green wave in 2005. But, god love em, the greenies banded together and stayed in the dome...
These guys played 11 games in 11 different stadiums this season. LSU fans cry about playing Arizona State in Arizona. Tulane students are scattered all over the country. Tulane teams are at LA Tech, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Houston.
They may have only won two games this season, but they didn't lose a single player, a single coach, or a staff member, they also won me. I'll root for tulane. Not that I won't root for LSU, I'll just root for tulane too. New Orleans is my home, and in an age where our professional football team is talking about leaving, our federal government is questioning why we're here, and #badword#s on sixty minutes are saying we should abandon our homes now, tulane represented us with a pride and ferver I never expected.
Roll Wave.
