"The Lewis Grizzard policy needs to be repeated "

here for bill Bennett, Fisher DeBarry etc.
Do NOT say insensitive things about overly sensitive people.
Nothing anywhere in the remote neighborhood of candor can ever occur when dealing with racial matters.
When someone asks you any question about general racial matters -- "Don't you think Black people seem to have darker skin than most Norwegians?" NEVER GIVE THE ANSWER TO THAT!
Always remark on the turn in the weather, the pleasant morning you had because you heard songbirds outside your window, the way a new fertilizer combination is improving your azaleas, the best place in town to go for lunch etc.
Black athletes seem to be very fast; Muslims and Jewish people don't go to church a lot, people from South America appear to like Mariachi music; American Indians own a lot of casinos, Oriental people cannot pronounce "Eleven yellow Chevrolets travel terribly fast." are all examples of things which must never be said.
It would be nice if there could be public discussion w/o going immediately into hysteria and rending of garments over who is the most victimized but the public arena is too flammable. And there are too many people poised ready to pander, make profit on the situation or who just like a big fight.
So -- let's practice here -- "Don't you think black athletes seem better suited to track & field than swimming?"
"I am glad you asked that, you know the Komodo Dragon is the world's largest living lizard and is found in the Solomon Islands and Oxford Mississippi."
