George Corley Wallace (196.204.243.162) on 10/13/2005 - 4:38 p.m. says: ( 7 views )

"Well, I was sorry to see that Vivian Malone Jones."

is sick. I really have great sympathy for her. She was just the puppet and stooge of outside agitators who used her to advance their own personal agendas. If those sorts of people would try to be more like Booker T. Washington and George Washington Carver than Eartha Kitt and Nat King Cole, they'd be a lot happier. You know that whole incident at the schoolhouse door thing was blown out of porportion. I told my brother Gerald to find a nice quiet place down in Macon County to make a stand. Well, Gerald screwed up and made me make a stand at Tuscaloosa. Five'll get you ten that there was either money or women involved--and I'm not talking about the take-to-the-Sunday-School-picnic-and-then-home-to-mama kind of girl either. Actually, a little bit like Cornelia. Come to think of it--well, never you mind about that. Segregation is found in nature. You ever seen a grizzly bear hanging out with salamanders? Ever seen a giraffe shooting the breeze with penguins? Didn't think so. I hear tell that when they made that Planet of the Apes movie that all the chimps hung out together and the gorillas, etc, etc. See it's just natural. Kind of like my buddy Ross Barnett always said. You remember Ross, don't you? I love Mississippi, I love her ways. You just remember that George Wallace is the savior of the working class in this state. And people in Alabama are just as smart as they are everywhere else. I'm gonna be President one day. Just watch and see.
