While we are in the realm of cumulative proof, let me add the following data to the pile: 8-40-2; 12-28-2; 8-21. These are, of course, the Ole Miss all time records against Alabama, Georgia, and Auburn. Add the Tennessee record to the mix and one gets 46-131-5 against SEC schools that are occasionally worth a damn. I had not the time, nor the poverty of spirit, to break it down based on records before and after the Civil Rights Act of 1964, but I know what my hypothesis would be.
Gosh, I would be crying too, if I had to live with these numbers.

Last year was the first meeting between the two schools since a 31-17 win by Tennessee at Knoxville in 1997...
