"question for the board"
|
(EDITED BY AUTHOR: 7/28/2005 - 7:56 p.m.) El Futbol
Two weeks ago, I was walking down 20th St. in Birmingham going to a very important job interview, wearing my new Johnson & Murphy brown leather shoes that my wife got me for my birthday, when I spied a shoe shine boy.
He shined my shoes up really good!! Well I did right by him< I rubbed his head for good luck and gave him a fresh new 25 cent piece (the new Iowa one, those are hard to come by!!!!!!!!!). He did a very fine job on my shoes!
Today I was back in downtown Birmingham and saw the same shoe shine boy. I got him to shine my shoes again. This time he used something he called special shinola. Well it looked nice and brown, but it really smelled bad, and when I got back to the office, as I was on my way back to my cubicle, people kept asking me if I had stepped in something like dog poop.
I think he may have used dog poop.
My question is: has anyone here had an experience like this and can they tell me how to tell sh!t from shinola. I don't want this to happen again?
P.S. Thanks for your answers this morning! I think Caveman had the best solution, but I can't get my wife to leave. LOL!!! Not that she would want to! But I had already decided before I posted that my wife was right.
