"It brings a tear to my eye...."

to see y'all remember me. I always did say that people in Alabama are as smart as people anywhere else, and we got the laws to prove it. Listen all that standing in the courthouse door baloney was nothing more than a game. Like Harry Truman used to say, a politician is a man who understands government. That's all I was doing. Like Big Jim used to tell me--his best advice was always when he was drunk--Georgie you caint hate them Nigras and live with yourself. Big Jim hit the nail on the head about Yankees when he said that the difference between a Southerner and a Yankee was that a Yankee would sleep with a Nigra woman--he just wouldn't eat breakfast with her the next morning. Show's what hypocrites that bunch is.
Ah, Cornelia, the light of my eye. I remember when my ex-press secretary, Tom Turnipseed, tried to low-rate Cornelia by calling her the Jackie Kennedy of the Rednecks. Folks in Alabama didn't like that too much and I put the leather to Tom's butt so hard, he sailed right out the north portico and landed on the Confederate monument. Last I heard, he was hidin' out in North Carolina. 'Course, Cornelia let herself go, with all that booze and dope. Got caught stealin' a pick-up truck in Elba, and that's about as sorry as a white woman can get. Real shame, that woman. She had potential.
Then, I repented over all the comments I had evah made, and the people lapped it up and reelected in '82. Let's send'em a message around the country. We ain't gonna have that Roy Moore and his tommy-rot in the State Capitol. That boy tried to take a page out of my playbook and still couldn't get it right. So, in a gesture of my love for the state of Alabama, I'm comin' back. I hereby announce my candidacy for Governor in 2006. The theme of the campaign: Wallace 2006, Death Is No Excuse. It'll be beautiful. Almost as beautiful as that time that Little George came to me and asked--we'll never mind.
I'm gonna be President one day. Just watch and see.
