"My email to Coach Tuberville."

Coach Tuberville,
Please convey this to the team and to your staff:
You are champions. You have shown it week in and week out. You dealt with every adversity that you have been presented with class and dignity. The players have presented themselves well on the field and off. In an era, where it is accepted and even admired for athletes to be a thugs and a "gangstas", these young men have accepted the responsibility of being good citizens and role models. The images that we have seen of the team: praying for the welfare of a player who has been injured, be they a teammate or an opposition player, singing a fight song after the game as a group, not just the Auburn fight song, but also an uplifting religious song; playing in a sportsmanlike manner; having stories in the news that don't involve fighting, drugs, and arrests; being honored for being good students; clearly supporting and loving one another as brothers, making decisions and sacrifices that are good for the team. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is although we, the fans and y'all, are disappointed about what is happening on the national level, we would rather have you as our team without that trophy that many other teams that have taken it home.
To the staff: Thank you for the marvelous job that you have done bringing out the best in this fine group of young men. You have molded them in to a cohesive, proud and determined batch. You have helped them, to borrow a turn of phrase from the Army, be all that they can be.
The BCS is a mess. Can I say that Auburn has any more right to the championship game than USC or Oklahoma? I would say so, but I might be biased. I do know this: Auburn has no less of a claim and unfortunately is probably going to be the poster child for BCS reform. I say unfortunately because, although this may precipitate change in the process, this team won't benefit from such change and we hurt for you. What you have accomplished this year cannot be diminished by the denial of an arbitrary honor.
Go beat the Hokeys! Make it 13-0 and may the chips fall as they may!
War Damn Eagle!!! We're proud as hell of you as football players and as men!
