International Islamic Terrorism is a web and not isolated pockets of militants.
I believe that Iraq is part of the web and was the best target of choice.
I believe that in the larger picture that a war against them is going to have to be fought.
I would rather fight it in Fallujah than Atlanta.
Iraq itself may yet prove to be a mistake. That they were real enemies is not in doubt in my mind. Perhaps Afghanistan should have been the sole focus. General Franks says no resources were diverted from Afghanistan to Iraq.
I have no sympathy for real ememies -- citizens or not -- whose complaint is that we are not following rules as we detain them. (If you did not want to go to Chicago why did you get on this train)
I do not believe the great threat is currently from the US government. I believe it is from the Islamist Radical network that is projecting terrorism throughout the world. I believe that if we are not able to successfully oppose this force that our details and delicacies about due process and points of order will be used to light the firse that burn down civilization.
I believe that Bush thinks they are a threat and Kerry does not.
