its Larry Coker's fault. He should not have offered Guillon a schollie. And then Guillon would not have transferred from Miami. I knew that Bama was somehow blameless in this debacle. Damn that Larry Coker. No wait, its Steve Spurrier's fault. He let Brock Berlin transfer to Miami. Damn that Steve Spurrier. Damn him to hell. He knew that Brock would beat out Crudup and Guillon and cause Guillon to transfer to Bama. I am sure he quit coaching the Redskins so as to avoid a Tommy Gallion subpoena.
how did Brodie come into the fall looking so good having sit out all spring practice with an injury? Shouldn't he have been rusty? Guillon is not as green as you portray in the post. Sure, he had never started a game (and there's nothing like game-time experience), but he HAS gotten plenty of reps (SOMEBODY got plenty of reps as the starting QB in the spring).
He may not be as good as desired, but that's the fault of whoever evaluated his talent. UAT is not the only school to lose a key player during the season. Sure, the backups may not be as good as the starters--that's why they aren't starting. But to sit and say that the season is in the crapper just because the starting QB got hurt will not carry as much water or gather as much sympathy from those outside the Alabama fanbase. It's football. If there is a significant dropoff in talent b/t the #1 and #2 guys, then the "team" is not as good as everyone thinks.
