"Borges' primary contribution to Auburn in 2004:"

West-Coast schematics aside, Borges' biggest contribution to Auburn this year has been his ability to recognize the strengths and weaknesses of his offensive personnel. Borge has been here since this past spring. Compare the progression of Borges' offense after 5 games with that of his predecessors (Mazzone, Petrino, and Nall) in their respective inaugural season as offensive coordinator. Auburn is playing as a team which believes in the system and is playing with an enthusiasm which has only been witnessed in bits and spurts during Tuberville's tenure. And this enthusiasm is contagious: Auburn is playing loose and easy on both sides of the ball. Simply put, I believe in this team because they seem to believe in themselves and their coaches. Imagine now the offensive possibilities if Borges is able to recruit players who fit his scheme? The future looks bright indeed. But first things first: secure the West Division outright. Then and only then will I become a true believer.
