An ex-President that is fondly remembered. What a concept.
The hyperbole is gushing both pro- and con- Reagan, but throgh it all the real story is that he was the Right man at the Right time for the job of President. While the Reagan worshippers may get a little tiring this week, I wish the Reagan bashers could shut up and let the man be honored.
CBS interrupted their golf coverage Saturday to air their canned obituary. Sure enough, they spent about as much time on Iran-Contra as they spent on every other aspect of his Presidency, and then they focused on the "controversies" surrounding his retirement such as the Japanese payouts.
I was really disappointed. Here the man just died, and CBS has to find ways to bash him.
