debates are little more than people arguing against their own misinterpretations of what the other person meant.
In this case, she did not mean to say that socialization causes our sexual orientation, rather that we are socialized that we are supposed to be straight.
No offense, but regardless of how well she did or did not express her opinion, what she really meant would have been a lot more readily understood had you not not been so intent on proving your point rather than understanding what just what her point was.
