"Auburn Creed Redone c. 1998"

The following is a rewritten Auburn Creed that I sent David Housel 5 years ago: I believe that this is a material world. Therefore, I believe every man has his price...however high. I believe in miseducation, and the hopes I can use it skillfully. I believe in dishonesty and half-truths, without which I cannot pull the wool over the eyes of my fellow man. I believe in 4-H and all the principles it teaches, except when they take up 1200 free seats for a basketball game. I believe in obedience to Lowder because it protects my ass. I believe that when you get stuck between a rock and a hard place, pay the rock to turn soft and replace the hard place with Appalachain State. I believe in saving my job over the needs of the university, and that I can best serve that university by keeping my job. And because Auburn men and women believe in these things, I am embarrassed to be one. His reply...a three sentence letter that went something like this: I received your letter. I accept the thoughts and criticism it contained. I hope I can restore your faith in the future. David I think it's time time polish it up and sent it again. Thoughts?
