Certainly, the average Chicago Black-hawk fan could care less about the Auburn Tigers. Probably about as much interest as I have in professional hockey. Or, for a more relevant example: about as much interest as I had in the recent baseball doping scandal in L.A. Very little. But despite my lack of interest, don't think that impressions weren't formed.
So yes, there may not be much interest in this story in Chicago, but unfavorable impressions and perceptions will be made. And the ripples from this story are bigger than Auburn University. They will affect people's perception of the whole state and the region. Scoff it off it you like, but this is the reality.
