"There Is A Prominent Place"

(EDITED BY AUTHOR: 11/20/2003 - 9:05 a.m.)

in the Pantheon of Pitiful Pictures for this piece of excrement. It is even ridiculed on the VH-1 show, "I Love The 80s," which is a fitting destination. My primary questions after seeing it for the first and only time were: I wonder how much Jason Robards had to drink to be able to say those lines with a straight face; and how does Jason Robards' character survive a nuclear blast by crouching down in the front seat of his car? When it comes to films about nuclear war, "The Day After" is to "Dr. Strangelove" as Wallace Wade's 1925 Red Tide is to Jesse Hawley's 1925 Dartmouth Indians: a cheap, watered down version of true artistry.

http://lawrence.com/news/movie_specials/story/124521 like it did me when I was 16? I remember my mother didn't want me watch it, but my dad let me come into his study and watch it with him.
