"Ivory Tusk, you ignorant slut..."
|
Don't EVER try to call me out on something, and certainly not if you're going to crop quotes to fit your own misguided agenda.
First of all, the ONLY MNC I was disputing was 1930, that is the year you and Hobbes were arguing about, and that is the year I was discussing.
As you point out, Parke (it is spelled with an 'e') Davis selected Alabama has the MNC in 1930. But you fail to state in your post a fact clearly pointed out on the Alabama official football website, which is that Parke Davis' selection was FIRST PUBLISHED IN 1934. Well after the 1930 season in question.
From the Alabama website:
Davis — 1889-1935; chosen by Park H.
Davis, a Princeton player in 1889 and a coach
at Wisconsin, Amherst and Lafayette, and first
published in the 1934 Spalding’s Football
Guide.
At this point in time I won't dispute the other seasons, as I believe some of them to be legit. 1941 is particularly disturbing -- the Houlgate system did exist in 1941, but it was not published anywhere until 1946.
