That was me in '82 who gently guided you to the ground. What you didn't realize is that some misguided Auburn fan (who was wearing a kilt and humming bagpipe music) had brought along a pet komodo dragon which in the crush around stadium became agitated and leapt at you from behind in a quite mennacing manner. I feared with all my heart for the well being of one of our most welcome visitors from the plains and acted on instinct to try and protect you from the mad lizard's snapping jaws by launching my body into harm's way to protect you. In the confusion of the crowd and the chaotic efforts of others to subdue the beast we were seperated and I never had the chance to ask if you had made it through the ordeal ok. I am so glad that after all these years of wondering I now know that my effort was not in vain and that you are safe and secure and free of those crutches (one of which caught me a nasty blow across the shin and will be prime evidence in the friendly lawsuit that SwampGas at this very moment is preparing for me). I'm so very thankful to have the chance to set the story straight so that you can better understand the love and warmth that exudes from each and every Florida fan to all their SEC brethern.
