"Dispatches from the Reunion:"

The Best Football Team to wear the Orange and Blue had a reunion on the day of the MSU game. Biggest Cheer heard at the Game It wasn't for Caddy bring a 25 year old record. It wasn't for PAt Dye at halftime. Nor was it for Bo Jackson. It was when Carl said "Score from Oxford, Ole Miss 43, Alabama..." and as the score was simultaneously put on the Jumbo*Tron no one heard the rest. Best thing Bo said at the reunion When asked if he was bothered that everyone was wanting his autograph "Do it bother you that nobody wants yours?" Second best thing he said "Hey fellas its just charity work" while posing with MSU's training staff for a photo they requested. Guess Dontae Walker was busy. I got to do my first Tigerwalk as a parcipant. It certainly wsn't a big deal in 1983, hell the team lived at Sewell Hall and spent the night there too (none of this going ot a hotle the night before stuff--in fact most of the freshman dressed in the Colesium and walked over to the stadium--- think that would work today? I was walking about ten feet in front of Coach Dye: you could hear people say sotto voice "There's Coach Dye" as he passed. I half expected men to remove their hats and women to swoon. One of the 83 tem members asked one of the 93 team members "Where's your coach" and he pointed ot Coach Dye and said "Right there". Interesting facts about the managers who did attend: One is a now a pilot for American Airlines. He spent 9 years in the USAF and flew 36 combat missions in Gulf War One. Another is an internist and the biggest doctor in his small southern town. Another is assistant superintendent of a schools of r a medium sized Georgia city. Another is a lawyer who goofs off all day long on the internet. Another is plant manager for one of the large textile compnies.
