(EDITED BY AUTHOR: 10/13/2003 - 10:43 a.m.) .....although it appears that we were lucky to get out with a win. Of course, I didn't see the game nor did I get a chance to listen to it. I am grateful for the win, but why only 10 points? It looks like we had a few 3 and outs. Was Arky's run D that good, and was the passing game not effective? Just curious to see what happened. Our D seemed to have a good game again. I am indeed thankful for the invention of the holding penalty.luck, I would say the Piggies made way too many errors in a tight ball game. We went conservative in the 2nd half,
and IMHO should have rested Carnell more. We had a long drive that ate 7 minutes
off the clock to get a field goal to answer the Piggie field goal. If either
Jacobs was in on the last 3rd and 5, or Carnell fresher, we make the first down,
and have a good chance for a touchdown to go up 14-3.
The "D" made some big time stands, and forced a turnover on our 8 yd line.
The Special teams played well except for Tubs fake punt.
We made some mistakes and there is room for improvement, but the effort was
there and it's a SEC WEST ROAD WIN vs a foe that has smacked us around the
last few times we've played. As is usually the case in a tight game with
evenly matched foes, the most mistakes made will usually cost you the game.
I'll take for sure.
