A friend of mine watched Dell's refurbish site until he was the server he wanted. I don't know the specs, just that he got it for THOUSANDS less than retail. The Dell refurbs are also generally not truly refurb machines. Many/most of them are orders that were changed after they had been entered into their production system. Rather than pulling the original order from the system, they build it, then transfer it to refurb for sale. These systems go fast, so you have to be patient to wait for what you want, but when you see it, you have to buy it pretty fast.
