"One Vol's opinion of Auburn"

Some friends of ours graciously invited us down to share the AU experience in section 6, row 2. I have soaked up all the atmosphere I can handle!!! Random thoughts:
1. Campus. Absolutely beautiful. I love it. The small town atmosphere is a large plus. Too bad the hurricane did so much damage to the trees at Toomer's corner. I'll bet it was quite a sight "back then".
2. Fans. Very gracious. Of the thousands of fans only met 2 a-holes. Unfortunately one was behind me. After the liquor kicked in during the 3rd quarter, he calmed down.
3. Liquor. What up??? For a "liquor free" campus, why did I see a "booze watcher" in the library to make sure drinks didn't get mixed up? Never seen such a blatant disregard for open container laws...but the cops didn't seem to mind.
4. Parking. Again, what up? The university is missing cashing in on a fortune of parking passes. Park on the street, sidewalk, grass, on top of other cars...absloutely amazing. I can verify that traffic is a real pain. Fortunately, I wasn't driving and left it to the professional.
5. Tiger Walk. Very impressive also. Great crowd. Lots of flavor.
6. Inside Jordan-Hare. I was (and am) blown away. The color and crowd participation was unparalleled to anything I have seen. I was louder than my previous "loudest" games (UT/Florida 92 and 98). To sum it up, if we had your intensity, we would never lose a home game. You guys rule!!!
7. Tiger play. How the hell did you lose any games at all? Campbell is supposed to stink, he looked fine to me! The running game and d-line are first rate. If you can run a very tough gambit (Bama, LSU, UGA, Ark), you will make a big post season splash against some stinky B-10 team...maybe even some BCS action.
Bottom line: time and money well spent. Glad I came to see it! Good luck. War Eagle!
