"Dadgummit ..."

Chris is a fine young man. You see it was his dadgummed enthusiasm for gettin' to class that our coaches have instilled in him since he slept through his exams last year that caused him to take the closest space to the building. He just couldn't wait to get to his seat and start takin' notes. I swear he is that pumped up about his studies. That's all. I am sure that when the police get to the bottom of this story, it will all go away. In fact, I would bet on it, if my bookie hadn't tranferred .... er.... moved last year. Course I do such things for entertainment purposes only. Chris wouldn't do anything that wasn't right and honest. I drill that into my players just like I drilled into my own boys who have enjoyed such fine careers in coachin', and broadcastin', and in the securities bidness. Like I was a tellin' Terry the other day, a man's word is his sacred bond. Terry has taken that to heart you see. That's why he says so many words, I believe, because he wants to keep that sacred bonding going on. Least that's what I think. I'm not always able to follow his show, you know. It goes on and on and my attention span's not what it used to be. But back to my point, this dadgummed thing with Rix is overblown. It's a misunderstandin'. We'll straighten it out here like we always do. Now y'all just get back to your own bidness, unless you wanna buy some stock or something. One of my boys here can fix you right up. Now, my joints are a hurtin'. So go on about your work and leave this dadgummed Chris Rix stuff where it belongs. With me. Sincerely, Coach

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Florida State quarterback Chris Rix used an unauthorized handicapped parking sticker on campus, and paid a $100 fine after fellow students told police. Students recognized Rix as he parked his sports utility vehicle near one of his classes last Wednesday, and chastised him as he walked away. They then left a note on his windshield and called police, who put a lock on a tire so the vehicle couldn't be moved, school officials said. Florida State coach Bobby Bowden said Rix would be disciplined, but didn't specify what the punishment would be.
