phone call with my son on Monday and wrote a nice piece on Alex and his Make A Wish visit to alabama practice and then the game (plus all the cool game day stuff the deep pockets get to enjoy)...Karle has the story on his Facebook page. with a few pictures.
take aways from Alex's visit. HaHa Clinton-Dixon is his new BFF; coaches and players seem to really care about kids with medical issues; Alex loved the traing facility- particularly the cyrotherapy chamber; the Crimson Hospitality area on Quad awesome; so are all Alabama cheerleaders who posed with him; he pulled Big Al's nose; he and his father was on the field at 5:45 until after KO; Cory Reamer who uis the radio network sidelines reporter and HaHa helped calm Alex down before going to midfield for coin toss- my son said he was overwhelmed by noise and light show; radio play by play Chris Stewart introduced him on broadcast as did the B-D announcer; he was shown on the videoboards; all the refs came over and shook his hand before kickoff; john said he went nuts when Brown got the pick six; john taught him how to boo Vol fans (well actually grandpa did); after game they watched players get on the team bus and several who met him at the Thursday practice came over and wished him luck; he brought home a lot of swag including a signed football.
Sunday, the athleteic deparment sent them about two hours of pictures and videos...all so damn cool.
