when he was starting out, Norm was coach at Presbyterian early 50's. his assistant was a young guy Bo Schembechler that also was a football assistant. Bo once said "I was the worst coach Norm ever had, and he was the worst football coach I ever had."
right before Frank passed away in 2018 I drove to Gainesville to make Frank go to the game to see Sonny. they got to visit before the game. Frank told me he was going to UF. he went to a practice that fall his senior year. Norm brutally cussed out the players during a meaningless practice before the season. Frank said, I can't go here, this man will cuss me every day. he goes back to Kissimmee and his mom says she's so excited that he'll be in Gainesville and she can come visit every day. He said that sealed the deal and he called Sonny and said I'm coming. I don't like being yelled at for nothing and don't want my mom living at my dorm. LOL.
