Looks like I am coming out of retirement after 4 years. . . .
I just landed a sweet gig. A good friend of mine has been recruiting me to take on a sportswriting job, covering high schools in Alabama. He has been after me for a while but they had to get rid of the slacker that was doing the job, who was basically phoning it in. One weird thing was that the dude spent an inordinate amount of time attending girls high school sports. There have been complaints.
Anyway, we haggled about the salary and I was able to secure 3X what the last guy was ripping them off for, plus all the Golden Flakes and Co-Colas I can stuff down my gullet.
5 years guarnteed. They were suppose to let the last guy know this afternoon.
