My proposal
Go back to ten teams, ten games, play six SEC games (UT, rotating team, Mississippi State, Florida, Georgia and Bama in that order, night games allowed only at LSU Vandy and Kentucky) play the games in the afternoon at 1:30 local time, play Georgia Tech every year as non conference game. 13 bowl games with bowl bids going out the week before thanksgiving.

and I found a book about the SEC. I thought it was kind of neat. The cover had a drawing of a circle with a banner from each of the ten teams pointing outward from the circle. Mom and Dad had told us kids that they would buy us each something from the store. I was so excited to hand my Dad the wonderful book I had found (as my purchase for the day). His exact words, "Why do you want that? It's probably written by a friend of Bear Bryant's and they're just going to make more money off of Auburn people. Put it back. You can find something better.".
