One of the reasons I always pulled for Texas Tech, Wazzou and now State
is to hear Leach speak. Although I always generally pull for State to win except when they play Auburn.==============================
We had a QB that played for him and later coached with Mumme and Leach before becoming Head Coach at Murray State. I was in his office talking special teams and besides having one of the most creative minds for football I have ever had the pleasure to be around just a super nice guy. After he drew about 15 punt formations on the board he asked how we did it. So I drew it up with blocking assignments and lanes and a couple options we used on 4th and less than 2 yards if we had a quick hit for a first. He took notes and asked how often we had used the short yardage option. Long story short Valdosta used our short yardage option in a playoff game and went on to score. The next year he was at Kentucky and came through on a recruiting visit. He told me had they not scored on that drive Mumme had told him "You know I am going to fire you if that doesn't work". I doubt he would have fired him but Leach is as funny in person as he is on TV. I hope he does well at Miss State and beat everybody but us.
