My first dilemma . . .
Lots of people that haven't posted in a while have popped back in to post. Excitement of the tumult I assume. Will they stick around and contribute? I dunno. I can't read everyone's mind and divine a course that will capture the most people. I've tried to do that in the past. I figured politics and religion and such were the problem and since I like those . . . and can't be sustained by just Auburn sports . . . I post in the Lounge. In doing so a bunch of Auburn sports talkers didn't break out over here and all is happy and bright. What happened was the right wing qanon stupid took over. And all is dark and crazy. I've always been open on this forum. I thought that was the way to go. I guess the nature of the world today prevents that.
I'm not sure I can sustain a board where I can't talk politics and religion and hell EVEN SCIENCE. I can't look into each of your hearts and know if you hate politics and would post if it was gone. If it was all Auburn sports. That's always one option but when space is left for that it never happens.
So as I see it I have 2 options. 1. Just ban politics and such. I won't be happy with this. It will not reflect me. But this place can't continue like it was. Then there is option 2. Me and the moderators simply generously delete. Attempt to have discussion and when the dark and crazy starts . .. end it. This last approach will be the more difficult. It might also not bring the most posts. I have no idea.
The floor is open . . . but no matter what happens . . . dark and crazy are done.
