I went to an SEC tournament with my younger daughter in the mid aughts. She was maybe 11. I am sitting with my buddy and his son, who was maybe a year or two older than my daughter. Auburn and Vanderbilt were playing. Auburn was in a matchup zone. The boy was mocking the AU defenders' inability to keep up with their men.
"They don't have a man. It's a matchup zone, you dummy," a high pitched, pre-teen female voice sounding much like my daughter's intoned.
She was right. My friend laughed on and off for half and hour. His son sulked.
