Yesterday, I had to make a decision about how to continue care for Tim. In order to go to the next level of care, the doctors would have to surgically implant a trach for breathing and a peg tube for feeding. Because there has been no change in Tim’s status and because without a miracle, there is not hope for a change in status, I have decided to not move forward with a tracheostomy and peg tube. At the current level of care, Tim is intubated for the ventilator. The doctors can not leave the tube in indefinitely (UT protocol is 2 weeks max). So, the tube will be removed at some point today. I do not know what will happen.
Because of several other situations that we have walked together, I know Tim’s opinion and wishes. I am confident that the doctors have given him the best treatment and every opportunity to recover.
I have not given up hope that the Lord will work a miracle. I know that He is fully able. I trust Him to work in His time.
Please, please continue to pray with me for a miracle!! Please also pray for our family today.
As a logistical note, I would ask that visitors are limited today so that I can focus on Tim and the girls.
Much love to everyone who continues to pray and support us. Thank you!!
