"Just back from a reunion of Soldiers at Fort Hood..."

32 years after we served together. I commanded the Brigade Headquarters Troop of the Combat Aviation Brigade of the 1st Cav Division from 1984-1986. One of the Soldiers who served a single enlistment back then pulled together a reunion and seven of us were there. There were about 10 others who planned to come but couldn't. One suddenly can't leave the state of Florida (ummm) and one missed her flight out of Reagan National, one had a death in the family and others backed out at the last minute. We've all gotten fat and gray, though I lead in that category. My First Sergeant was also there and he's 70 now to my 59. The rest are in their early 50s. Cold beer, tall tales, old stories, and lies ruled the day. I haven't laughed so hard or so long in years. What a weekend. That's me on the far left in front of the Apache in my "Cav Hat", a 35 year old Stetson and also on the far left in the second picture. My old First Sergeant is wearing the purple shirt and the baseball cap.
