say their risk had been tried to be mitigated, but all levels of roadblocks failed.
Still, if the students want to be in solidarity, why would they be upset about getting an absence? I would wear it as a badge of honor. Of course, some may get to exempt one exam if they have perfect attendance and that might be the problem.

in a truly free society. I object to precrime no matter how convincing the outlier examples seem to be. I disagree that the system failed . . . and I fear the calls for a system that won't fail. I don't share much with the student protest either.
I find myself on an island where those few of us here accept that life is not without risk and that a world in which such things can be intercepted at their inception (the mind) is not a world in which we wish to live. That the understanding of such things leads to the wonderful world in which we live . . . where things are better than they have ever been (historically) despite the constant barrage of "information" to the contrary.
