RE: She gave good replies to anyone willing to look at all...

Please give an example of an answer.

They were quizzing her on her knowledge of the federal laws that shape education policies.

She seems completely ignorant about the policies she opposes.==============================

They never let her answer. The widely publicized Franken question regarding growth and proficiency is a perfect example. Of the 6 minutes devoted to that question, Devos got about 30 seconds. Franken asked an open ended wuestion that was almost rhetorical..she asked him to clarify what he was actually asking, and he interrupted her and went off on a tangent about his views, whined about not getting more questions, and accused her of not knowing the subject all the while not giving her an opportunity to answer. The liberal blogosphere is trying to use that as evidence she is unqualified but anyone who actually watched the interchange can see what happenned. Same as with the ridicule they are giving for her answers about guns. I agree with her in that: anyplace that is a "gunfree zone" should be required to provide adequate security for those who go there..which means armed guards. If I am not allowed to protect myself, then they need to provide protection.

Franken, Warren or Sanders would not greet her when they entered the room. Warren even shooed DeVos away when Devos offerred her a handshake.

As for lobbyist..true. But I don't see DeVos as any more biased than a member of the teachers unions. My philosophy is that tax revenue belongs to the people not the government, and that the money allocated to the students belongs to the students not the school system. Control of education should be mainly local not federal, all of the modern federal grants/programs..NCLB and Common Core...have been too centralized and heavyhanded in their administration forcing school systems to waste a lot of money on administrative overhead and forcing teachers to "teach to the test". That is why public schools cost 2-3 times as much to educate per student than parochial schools.

I want a federal education department that is going to scale back federal intrusiveness in education and operate more as a guide not enforcement agency...and one that will not be diametrically opposed to school choice, leaving the decision for charter schools or vouchers with local communities where those decisions belong.
