"Epistocracy" Why we can't let the hoi polloi vote
http://foreignpolicy.com/2016/11/10/the-dance-of-the-dunces-trump-clinton-election-republican-democrat/
In my recent book Against Democracy, I discuss how we might experiment with epistocracy --- where political power is widespread, as in a democracy, but votes are in some way weighted according to basic political knowledge. Most of these proposals set off alarm bells (usually among people who have not bothered to think carefully about how these systems work). But each proposal at least takes seriously that universal suffrage and voter ignorance go hand in hand.
Of course unlike Southern States' literacy tests designed to disenfranchise blacks and Northern States literacy tests to keep Irish Catholics from voting, I am sure that Brennan will come up with a good literacy test.

How on earth does Auburn win? They are , after all, the Cow College. That automatically disqualifies them from being winners.
If you think both the liberal progressive Democrats and their bloated socialist party, the elite wealthy entitled Media outlets (and I do mean every single one of them- from ABC to Fox), and the smug defiant Republicans aren't busy scrambling and rebuilding the Death Star as fast as they can, in order to keep their power, then you just aren't paying attention. Hillary was once a Republican, and Donald was once a Democrat. Do a little research people. This is not about political knowledge-this is about money and power, and the all consuming desire to keep it. I see no self examination or humility-but then, having grown up an Auburn fan, have learned long ago not to expect it.
If you really think Barack Obama or Rand Paul or Hilary Clinton is offering some kind of olive branch to Donald Trump, you are naïve. There was a reason behind every revolution, and it was usually because the people were unhappy with the status quo. The outcome of the revolution is always dependent upon whoever can manage to hang onto money and power afterwards, and whether the people who do are ethical people. You can't win over Auburn fans to become Alabama fans by analyzing them and coming to the conclusion that the reason they aren't Alabama fans is because they are ignorant, or whatever denigrating label you like.
So, now, bring on the snark. Call me names. See how well that works.
