Something I want to share with you guys, if you have surgery, etc. that requires
you be on pain meds for an extended period of time, you might want to ask your doc to refer you to a Pain Management specialist. Just throwing the usual at the situation can cause some side effects that are not always neccessary.
I've always had a problem with pain meds being effective and had to live with really undesirable side effects untl I was refered to a pain specialist. To complicate things, I am allergic to codiene and hydrocodone.
The doc was able to identify my problems were based in my genetic make up and we went with a new and different pain med that has been great. Not only is it effective, I dont have the crazy side effects and I am able to function really well. The greatest part is i dont have the fog in the brain that I did with other pain meds.
I am now letting this guy handle all my pain management since the surgery and chronic pain syndrome diagnosis. Our goal is to be pain free and not rely on the usual narcotic/opiod meds i the future.
Life is a lot sweeter now and it aint just the meds talking.
