How does moving to the East benefit Auburn?
Just wondering.==============================
The already stated renewal of the annual UT and UF games. Those games were often classic early (UT) and season make or break later (UF part of Amen Corner)
The east has been the weaker half of the conference since Spurrier left UF and Phat Phil left UT. I know Meyer won a couple of MNC at UF since then but no one else has. Three different teams from the west have MNCs since then and the conference championship ratio has leaned way to the west. Auburn to the east levels the field.
LSU, Arky and backwards spellers are not natural rivals in my mind. MSU is and if we moved to the east and went to two permanent opponents I believe MSU should be our second. LSU games have often been just damn freaky. Arky seems to beat us once every 5-7 years when they shouldn't and ruin a good season. Oxford Community college has been of so little import since before the first Manning played there that they created a rivalry when Tubs left just so they would have something to talk about.
Finally, and perhaps most inportantly, maybe sissy mello would depart the premises if we only played them twice every 16 years, cause you know damn well we'd never meet them in Atlanta.
