I remember when the Oscars was (mostly) about films and acting.
And I'm not talking about the diversity thing... although I am sure if Sidney Poitier saw some of the films with those of diversity in them, he would snicker and say, "Y'all call that acting brother?"
No, I'm talking about the use of the podium to grandstand for every cause, conflict and political view. Even my 17 year old who is much more open minded than I am was nauseated.
And they wonder why the ratings just keep going down.

I've totally been warning about Bear's Boy since as early as the 80's. Bear's Boy is a political moron. We're not dealing with Albert Einstein. He's a total loser.
