"It's been a while.."

since I've logged in. Let me just say that I am grateful for many things in life. But for the past several weeks I have been most grateful that I am not a Bammer. I am grateful that my oldest child was rebellious and decided to go to Auburn instead of UT (A fine school). I am grateful that our youngest followed in her sister's footsteps and also went to Auburn. Those 8 years were some of the best in my life and I know the girls feel the same way. They went on to get their advanced degress from UT and...gulp...Alabama. (Three of the worst years of her life, I might add.) I am writing here because I want to keep it classy when my friends yell "Roll Taaad Roll" and express such pride in a school they never attended. Most have never set foot on their campus. I want to tell them that the love I feel for Auburn has nothing to do with the football team. Oh, yes, I do love Auburn football. Yes, I do. War Damn Eagle!! But I love the school and what it represents more. Now that I've gotten it off my chest, I guess what I really feel for them is pity. If they win tonight, I will listen to them making asses of themselves. Bless their hearts. If they lose, I will resist the temptation to rub it in their faces. And through it all, I'll be thinking....as I always do...."I believe in Auburn and love it."
