Namath was suspended for the bowl game for drinking all of Coach Bryant's Dickel and having sex with his dog. He did not play....Steve Sloan was the starter, although he missed the first three series leading a prayer group and writing his autobiography..... that was the SB with 4" of snow on the ground -- the icy kind not the other kind that I used to hoover in Vegas before I discovered meth.... my family went to '63 SB with Ole Miss-Arkansas. Barely remember it -- it was my first real bender ...I think that was the period of the 'Archie Who' crapola (but of course I am wrong by about 5 years)...Late uncle in nawleans knew a car dealer whose bookie's dad's lawyer had connections to SB committee and we could go any year and have primo seats.
