Though also a Bama hater since my school days at UT, I don't think I had ever really put myself in your shoes. I have done some reflection time given your responses below and now understand.
For Tennessee fans and the rest of the country, the rivalry with Alabama has a fundamentally different quality than it does for Auburn fans. For us, no matter how much we may hate their football team on the field, at least we get to look down upon the university itself. Sure, their team may win more than us lately, but they are still the University of Alabama. And no one respects that.
But for you, the university which the rest of us casually regard with derision is the state flagship school for which you did not qualify. I can only imagine how that must feel. And while the rest of us howl with laughter at all those photos of moronic crimson clad Bubbas and Bubbettes, for you these photos must create a hollow sickness as you quietly admit that even these degradations to the gene pool are your betters.
And perhaps the most galling insult was when Forrest Gump came out. This movie documented the adventures of a, uh, "simple" man, including his success at the Alabama capstone. In other words, the university that was beyond your reach accepted a student who not only was developmentally disabled, but a fictional character as well. I tear up just thinking about how you must feel knowing that an imaginary retard was able to get into the school which you could not.
I feel for you, brothers. I don't identify with you, but please know that I feel.

But I really do want to see Bama humiliate the Gators all the down to a bowl so lowly that even they might be able to win - if such a bowl exists.
