So far, there's been renewed cooperation. But this is bound to piss some of B'ham's recent allies off.
Off course, maybe they feel like they don't need the support of the OTM folks any more.

Oh this will be a win/win no matter what happens. Birmingham City Council votes to remove the monument. But doesn't fund the removal and asks several groups to remove it. the groups agree, the Bham City Council gets the monument removed and then says "oh you want the Confederate monument, you racist." Nobody steps up to pay for removal, City Council gets to say "you racist you don't want it removed".
If it is removed the heritage not hate group can claim no one remember that they ancestors (most who they cannot name) fought,not preserve to slavery but to insure that it could expand legally into the territories stolen from Mexico but for something something. If it is not removed then they can point and laugh at the majority black City Council for acting just as stupidly as a bunch of white politicians.
All of this could have been prevented if the Confederate flag at Columbia SC had not been padlocked so it could not be lowered to half staff to honor nine people gunned down exercising their First Amendment Rights. Never mind how to prevent nine people being gunned to began with down that God damned flag is the most important thing ever. The god damned mother #badword#ing flag. Whether it flies or not and whether it should have been padlocked so it could not be lowered without a 2/3 vote of the legislature. is the most important issue facing us today. Not gun violence. Not HRC's cravenness. Not Putin and 10,000 nukes pointed at us. Not the #badword#ed Red Chinese. Not wealth inequality. Not the erosion of our civil rights. Not God knows how many millions in debt the country incurred during the time it took me to write this poast.
BUT THE GOODAMNED FLAG OF A COUNTRY, OH I AM SORRY, OF AN ARMY OF A COUUNTRY THAT HASN'T EXISTED FOR 150 YEARS AND WAS NOT RECOGNIZED BY ANY OTHER COUNTRY ON EARTH DURING ITS BRIEF EXISTENCE. BIAFRA WAS RECOGNIZED BY MORE COUNTRIES THAT THE CSA WAS. WHETHER THE FLAG FLIES OR NOT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING OF ALL. THAT AND THE GHEY MARRIAGE--WHETHER 2.3 % OF THE POPULATION CAN GET MARRIED AND FLY OR NOT FLY THE STUPID FLAG.
Somehow I can remember that most of my ancestors spent their time being Scotch-Irish, Scottish, Welsh and English and various forms of Creek and Cherokee Indians despite the states in which I inhabit not flying their flags over their statehouse.
Oh and Florida at one time belonged to Spain and to England and then to Spain again and I know this and my kids know this because why? Because the Flag of the House of Castille and the Union Jack fly over the Capitol in Tallahassee. Wait a minute it doesn't? Well I will be damned trying to erase our history again.
Same with Alabama most people don't know the territory that is now Alabama was once claimed in whole or in part by France, Spain, Great Britain because why? Because they are ignorant schlubs who don't bother to read or who slept through history class? No. Because those flags are not flown over the Capitol or at any state sponsored memorials in Alabama. but the good news is this--we aren't oppressed by the Spanish or French or British any longer---cause why? Cause we don't have those flags with their symbols of oppression making ordinary folk feeling unsafe.
P.S. I know about Biafra cause I done seen its flag, y'all.
