okay all you scientists engineers and those who like puzzles here is one
for you: No peeking on intrawebz.
The Monty Hall Problem.
You are a contestant on "Lets Make a Deal" Hosted by Monty Hall. You are given the chance to pick a cash prize hidden behind one of three doors.
Monty knows what is behind door numbers 1 , 2 and 3. Behind one of the doors is a check for $ 1million dollars. Behind each of the other two doors is a goat. This means you have a 1/3 chance of winning $ 1 million dollars and a 2/3 chance of taking a goat home.
Once you pick a door then Monty will open one of the other two doors that you did not pick to reveal a goat.
So you pick door number 1. Monty then points to door number 3 which is raised to reveal a goat. This leaves closed door number 1 (your pick) and door number 2. Whatever is behind each of the two remaining doors is known to Monty but not to you.
Monty then says- "okay I will give you the option of changing your pick of the doors- you can stay with your pick of door number 1 or you can now change to door number 2"
Would changing your pick of doors, at this point, have any affect on your chances of winning the million dollars? ?

if you are bama fan you leave the pick as is b/c you don't want to get teh money as the goat has more long term real world cash value and winning the 1mm would cuase me to lose my disbility from the gobernment and then how would i pay the taxes on the winnings? I ain't got that kind a money??? and i ain't paid taxes since I was in third grade working at hardeees. sheesh.
