My daughter's Lyme Disease was just confirmed to be in remission! Even though we already felt that was the case it is still great to hear from the doctor. It has been a long 3 years but my baby girl is well. It was so hard watching her struggle through her high school years. Those should be the most fun time of your life but for her they were difficult at best. She was a real warrior through it all and was faithful to take the massive number of pills, take daily epsom salt baths to detox, and hardest of all - keep a sugar free diet. Her faith in God was strengthened and she has used this as a way to honor Him. She determined from the outset that she was not going to be defined by Lyme and she hasn't been at all. My wife was also amazing in all that she did to care for her and through it has become quite knowledgeable about the proper treatment of Lyme. She has helped many others get correctly diagnosed and begin treating the disease correctly. We have also been blessed with insurance that covered the treatment and a doctor who was as good as there is in the field. I do wish he had
not been located 2 states away. But what's 600 miles one way if it gets
your child well?
If you know of anyone that suspects they may have Lyme whether they know they were bitten by a tick or not encourage them to find a Lyme literate doctor(referred to as LLMD). Most doctors in the southeast will tell you there is no Lyme here. They are wrong. My wife will be happy to talk with anyone you know that needs to be pointed in the right direction for treatment and will be happy to help them in any way she can.
Also I would like to thank one particular "retsaop" that has remembered to ask about my daughter from time to time. I appreciate that you cared about her condition.
