when they have as many weaknesses as we do. You've all been spoiled by 2013. Yes, spoiled! 2013 will go down in Auburn lore as one of the most amazing and improbable . . . and maybe the most fun season ever.
Our defense was this bad last year . . . almost. Our kicking game was a lot better. Greg was better than Shon. Jay was better. Tre was better. But we've got a better passing game this year.
Last year we had every opportunity to blow games and we won them (except FSU).
How we did what we did with that team is really crazy. This year we've actually done pretty well too . . .
Our defense is horrible. It has been horrible for a while. From the last days of Tubs to now.
Our kicking game is bad. This is new to this year.
All teams will struggle at some point on offense . . . Bama has done it. Go right down the line and you will see that. They have a defense that allows them to stay in the game. We had an offense that just whipped everyone . . . up till recently.
What is "not right" is kids cycle on and off . . . teams cycle on and off. If only one part of your team is really competitive in the league in which you play . . . it's asking a lot for them to be on all the time.
I hope the offense has one more on game in them . . . and they bring it to Tuscaloosa. But beyond that I'm still amazed by what Gus has done. Now it is time for him to prove he has what it takes to be a program leader.
